Services
At Blue Sky Center for Learning, we are committed to providing premium services through evidence-based practices. We utilize the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)to teach skills to children of all ability levels.
Evaluations and Assessments

Assessments and evaluations are provided by our BCBA's
-
Referrals are accepted through primary care providers, school districts and privately
-
In consultation with the parent or school District the assessment is scheduled at Blue Sky in 3 hour blocks for 12 to 15 hours

Blue Sky utilizes the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) developed by Mark Sundberg

This criterion referenced assessment gives a comprehensive picture of the whole child and provides accurate feedback to parents and professionals in order to guide prioritization of intervention needs, curriculum planning and facilitates tracking of skill acquisition

A comprehensive Behavior Reduction Plan (BRP) is also completed at this time

When appropriate the Essentials for Living Assessment developed by Patrick McGreevy will be utilized
-
Essentials for Living assesses communication, behavior and functional life skills with social validity, along with evidence-based measurement strategies and procedures

Collected data is analyzed and the Assessment report, Behavior Reduction Plan and Individual Treatment Plan are developed and written
-
1:1 ABA instruction is provided by highly qualified Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) and Behavior Technicians (BT's) who are supervised by our Behavior Analysts
Based on the evaluation/assessment results, Learners attend clinic 9 to 25 hours per week. BlueSky indicates the minimum number of hours a learner needs to make adequate progress based on their individualized need -
Each Learners program begins with the full assessment, developed reports, treatment plan and goals

ABA therapy includes but is not limited to: reinforcement, behavior protocols, pairing, manding, discrete trial instruction and natural environment teaching, social interaction

Data is recorded in real time as the Learner moves through their programs each session

Data is analyzed daily. Program modifications are made through discussion with the (R)BT and BCBA
-
Progress Reports are developed every 6 weeks for each Learner and reviewed by the (R)BT and BCBA with their parents

When services are requested via the Learners School District all Assessments and Progress reports are shared/reviewed with the District
-
The VB-MAPP is updated every 6 months for each Learner

Implementation of assessments and programs based on the VB-MAPP & ABLLS-R

Assess and develop behavioral support protocols

With staff input, address behavioral challenges that compromise the student's ability to make progress toward goals identified in their Individualized Education Plan (IEP)

Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and develop Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP) / Behavior Support Protocols (BSP)

Implementation of behavior protocols for individual students

Train and offer guidance to staff in implementing BIP/BSP through didactic instruction, modeling and both in-vivo and in-vitro instruction

Prepare reports related to services noted

Participate in scheduled meetings relevant to student's progress

Social Skills Groups
-
Our groups focus on the development of social skills in a welcoming, safe, fun and integrated setting
-
Each learners age and abilities are considered as we target specific social skill development unique to each participant
-
We utilize recreational therapy programing to target interactive learning facilitated by planned lessons, games, activities and peer modeling
-
Sibling participation is welcomed and encouraged
